Hello everyone! My name is Kanchan but students lovingly call me Ms. KC, and I am new to GCCPS this year. I am very excited to meet all of you for our special NET lessons and activities in the English Corner.
Growing up in a multicultural family, I have great appreciation for different cultures around us. And, I spend most of my summers travelling around the world to visit family in the UK, Nepal and India. In my free time, I love to read books, meet new friends and go on hikes. I enjoy going on week-long treks in the Himalayas every trekking season. Fun fact, I was named after the third-highest mountain in the world called Kanchenjunga! So, that could be why I am so captivated by the snowy Himalayan range.
I am a big foodie, and I absolutely love Chinese cuisine. My favorites include egg tarts, hotpots and dim sum. I think Hong Kong is not only a cultural melting-pot but also, a food paradise where you can find authentic food from any country you can think of. I also love exploring the sandy beaches around Hong Kong with my pomeranian rescue. He is tiny but super energetic, and just loves to play fetch endlessly!
I don’t know about you, but I’m very happy the weather is turning. I can’t wait to spend more time outside.
I’m looking forward to hiking, playing tennis and going for short runs outside. Do you know what else I’m looking forward to? If you are not sure, then read the heading of this article. Our school picnic this year is in November.
What are you going to bring? Let me tell you what I’m going to bring: healthy snacks, water, sunscreen, a hat, an umbrella, a warm jacket, insect repellent and some games we can play together.
I can’t wait! Have fun, but remember that safety come first!
It's not cold, is it? The summer brings our summer holiday. It is time to take a much-deserved break. What are your plans?
I'm going to escape the heat. South Africa is in the Southern Hemisphere, so it is winter there now. It recently snowed on the mountain tops, so I'm taking a warm jacket and thick socks. As you know, I like spending a lot of time outdoors, but it is usually quite rainy in Cape Town in winter. I will mostly go on road trips and have long dinners with friends and family.
I miss seeing your faces already. I hope the 2023/24 school year was as unforgettable for you as it was for me. I'm very grateful for every student, teacher, staff member and parent who brightened my days.
I can't wait to hear all about your holiday when the new school year starts.

I am very fortunate to be one of the NETs at GCCPS. I love the students and the teachers here very much!
You are probably wondering where I'm from. Well, I'm from sunny South Africa. I've always liked taking part in outdoor activities. That's why I'm so happy to live in Hong Kong now because there's so much you can do.
I enjoy going on long hikes, swimming in the sea, playing tennis and squash, and eating healthy food at the many wonderful restaurants in Hong Kong. At home I like to read and watch educational videos.
